Self-talk has a powerful impact on our wellbeing. Critical self-talk can lead to more suffering, increased stress, and unhappiness. Kinder self-talk leads to less suffering, more calm, and contentment.
The Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens program provides teens with tools to decrease the volume of their inner critic and increase the volume of their compassionate voice. Speaking to ourselves in a more compassionate way reduces stress — leading to a healthier attitude toward life and toward ourselves.
Program topics include:
- Role of the inner critic
- Getting in touch with your compassionate voice
- Why self-compassion is more reliable than self-esteem
- The cost of social comparison
- Exploring your core values
- The power of gratitude
